Submission of proposal for Weg naar Zee Block closed

Staatsolie has received one (1) proposal from an O&GC for the Weg naar Zee Block between 1 January 2019 and 11 January 2019 under the “ Open Door Invitation for Onshore Suriname 2019”. Other O&GC’s had the opportunity to submit an application for the same acreage until 11 April 2019, 12:00 Local Suriname Time. Staatsolie will review the proposal and agree on a plan forward with the O&GC.

Farm-in Petroandina Resources Corporation Block 62

On 1 April, 2019 Tullow Suriname B.V. transferred a part of its interest in the Production Sharing Contract for the Petroleum, Exploration, Development and Production concerning offshore Block 62 to Petroandina Resources Corporation N.V.

Phase 1 2D Seismic Acquisition in Offshore Block 61 Completed

Cairn Energy PLC, operator in Block 61, just completed part of their 2D seismic acquisition survey in Block 61. From the 9th of January until the 6th of February 2019 the seismic vessel Harrier Explorer acquired ~3,500km of 2D seismic data completing phase 1 of the planned survey. The Harrier Explorer will return in April - May to complete phase 2 of the survey.

Petronas conducted MT/CSEM survey

Petronas conducted a MagnetoTelluric (MT) and Controlled Source Electromagnetic (CSEM) survey crossing 7 offshore blocks, Offshore Suriname. The vessel used was the Atlantic Guardian. The survey started on 18 November 2018 and finished on 20 January 2019.

Open Door Invitation for Onshore Suriname 2019

Suriname is seeking to attract companies that have a demonstrated ability to explore, develop and produce petroleum in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. Staatsolie therefore invites oil and gas companies ("O&GCs") to submit proposals for Commewijne, Coronie and Weg naar Zee blocks onshore, they are interested in exploring. Opening for submission of proposals starts on the 1st of January 2019.

Start 2D seismic acquisition in Offshore Block 61

Cairn Energy PLC, operator in Block 61, is ready to start a 2D seismic acquisition survey in Block 61. The block is located approximately 200 km northeast of Paramaribo and covers an area of approximately 11,800 km2. The seismic vessel Harrier Explorer will execute the work. Operations are planned to start on the 30th/31st of December 2018 and the expected duration is approximately 50 days.
