Staatsolie concludes production-sharing contracts for two offshore blocks

Staatsolie concludes production-sharing contracts for two offshore blocks On 13 July 2017, Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname N.V. concluded production-sharing contracts for two offshore blocks. For Block 59, an agreement was signed with a consortium consisting of the oil companies ExxonMobil, Hess Corporation and Statoil. With Statoil a contract was signed for Block 60.

PSC Agreements Blocks 59 & 60

Staatsolie and the consortium consisting of ExxonMobil, Hess and Statoil have reached agreement regarding a PSC for Block 59 offshore Suriname. At the same time an agreement was reached with Statoil for Block 60. The blocks were awarded to the consortium and Statoil as a result of Staatsolie’s ‘Open Door Policy Offshore Suriname’. Parties expect to sign the PSC’s no later than the second week of July 2017. On 15 September 2017 the ‘Open Door Policy Offshore Suriname’ will reopen, and interested companies will again have the opportunity to submit proposals for the open offshore acreage.

Suriname Farm-In Opportunities Blocks B & C

Staatsolie is seeking Joint Venture partners for exploration and subsequent production of Block B and Block C.The Flyer gives more information on these Blocks.

Virtual Data Room Extended

The Virtual Data Room (VDR) for the farm out opportunity in Block B and in Block C have been extended until 30 March 2017 and is accessible via The deadline to accept offers is due on 28 April 2017.

Start 3D seismic acquisition Block 42

The 3D seismic acquisition in Block 42 commenced in the first week of October and is being conducted by the Oceanic Sirius.

3D Seismic Survey Block 58 finished

The 3D seismic survey in Block 58 was successfully completed on 29 September 2016. The survey covered an area of approximately 6,100km2 and was conducted by the Polarcus Alima.
