PSC Agreements Blocks 59 & 60

Staatsolie and the consortium consisting of ExxonMobil, Hess and Statoil have reached agreement regarding a PSC for Block 59 offshore Suriname. At the same time an agreement was reached with Statoil for Block 60. The blocks were awarded to the consortium and Statoil as a result of Staatsolie’s ‘Open Door Policy Offshore Suriname’. Parties expect to sign the PSC’s no later than the second week of July 2017. On 15 September 2017 the ‘Open Door Policy Offshore Suriname’ will reopen, and interested companies will again have the opportunity to submit proposals for the open offshore acreage.

Noble Bob Douglas en route to the Kolibrie-1 exploration well location

Apache Suriname Corporation LDC and their partners Petronas and Cepsa will spud the exploration Kolibrie-I well in offshore Suriname block 53 in March 2017. The drillship Noble Bob Douglas which has been contracted to drill this well, departed the Gulf of Mexico and is en route to the drill location.

Start 3D seismic acquisition Block 42

The 3D seismic acquisition in Block 42 commenced in the first week of October and is being conducted by the Oceanic Sirius.

3D Seismic Survey Block 58 finished

The 3D seismic survey in Block 58 was successfully completed on 29 September 2016. The survey covered an area of approximately 6,100km2 and was conducted by the Polarcus Alima.
